The Stone the Builders Rejected
42 Jesus said unto them, ‘Did you never read in the scriptures, “The Stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?” This is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?
43 Therefore say I unto you, the Kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. 44 And whoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.’
45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spoke of them. 46 But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.
The Parable of the King’s Sons’ Wedding
Matthew 22:1 - And Jesus answered and spoke unto them again by parables, saying,
2 ‘The Kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, 3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, “Tell them which are bidden, ‘Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.’ ” 5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, and another to his merchandise:
6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them. 7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
8 Then he said to his servants, “The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. 9 Go you therefore into the highways, and as many as you shall find, bid to the marriage.”
10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: 12 And he said unto him, “Friend, how did you come in here not having a wedding garment?”
And he was speechless. 13 Then said the king to the servants, “Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” 14 For many are called, but few are chosen.’
The Pharisees Try to Trap Jesus Again
15 Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk. 16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, ‘Master, we know that you are true, and teach the way of God in truth, neither do you concern yourself with any man’s status: for you regard not the person of men. 17 Tell us therefore, ‘What do you think? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?’
18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, ‘Why do you tempt me, you hypocrites? 19 Show me the tribute money.’
And they brought unto him a penny.
20 And he said unto them ‘Whose is this image and superscription?’
21 They say unto him, ‘Caesar's’.
Then he said unto them, ‘Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.’
Sadducees and the Resurrection
22 When they had heard these words, they marveled, and left him, and went their way. 23 The same day the Sadducees came to him which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
24 Saying, ‘Master, Moses said, ‘If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.’ 25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
26 Likewise the second died also, and the third, unto the seventh. 27 And last of all, the woman died also. 28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? For they all had her.’
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, ‘You do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have you not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, 32 “I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.”? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.’
33 And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.
Which is the First Commandment of All?
Mark 12:28-34 - And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, ‘Which is the first commandment of all?’
29 And Jesus answered him, ‘The first of all the commandments is, “Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your life, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.” This is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” There is none other commandment greater than these.’
32 And the scribe said unto him, ‘Well, Master, you have said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: 33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the life, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.’
34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, ‘You are not far from the Kingdom of God.’ And no man after that dared to ask him any question.
The Widows Mite
Mark 12:41-44 - And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. 42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
43 And he called unto him his disciples, and said unto them, ‘Truly I say unto you, That this poor widow has cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: 44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.’

Matthew 24-25 - 1And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to show him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said unto them, ‘See you not all these things? 4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, ‘Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, “I am Christ” and shall deceive many. 6 And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and Kingdom against Kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in different places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and you shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in the entire world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
15 When you therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoever reads, let him understand:) 16 Then let them which are in Judea flee into the mountains: 17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house: 18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. 19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20 But pray that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day:
The Great Tribulation
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christ’s, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before. 26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, “Behold, he is in the desert”; go not forth: “Behold, he is in the secret chambers”; believe it not. 27 For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 28 For where ever the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
Jesus Coming in the Clouds
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
The Parable of the Fig Tree
32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree: When his branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near: 33 So likewise you, when you shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34 Truly I say unto you, this generation shall not pass, till all these things are fulfilled. 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36 But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore: for you know not what hour your Lord comes.
Be Ready
43 But know this: that if the good man of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore you also be ready: for in such an hour as you think not the Son of man comes.
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he comes shall find so doing. 47 Truly I say unto you, that he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, “My lord delays his coming.”; 49 And shall begin to smite his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looks not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 26:1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples, 2 You know that after two days is the feast of the Passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified. 3 Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, 4 And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtlety, and kill him. 5 But they said, ‘Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.’
Jesus Anointed at Bethany
6 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, 7 there came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat. 8 But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, ‘To what purpose is this waste? 9 For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.’
10 When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, ‘Why trouble the woman; for she has wrought a good work upon me. 11 For you have the poor with you always; but me, you do not have always. 12 For in that she has poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial. 13 Verily I say unto you, where ever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman has done, be told for a memorial of her.’
Judas Agrees to Betray Jesus
14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, 15 And said unto them, ‘What will you give me, and I will deliver him unto you?’ And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. 16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
Jesus Eats the Passover with His Disciples
17 Now the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, ‘Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?
Jesus Washes the Disciples’ Feet
John 13:1-22 Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. 2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him; 3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; 4 He arose from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. 5 After that he poured water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.
6 Then came he to Simon Peter: and Peter said unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? 7 Jesus answered and said unto him, ‘What I do thou know not now; but you shall know hereafter. 8 Peter said unto him, Thou shall never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, ‘If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. 9 Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. 10 Jesus said to him, He that is washed needs not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and you are clean, but not all. 11 For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, ‘You are not all clean.’
12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, ‘Do you know what I have done to you? 13 You call me Master and Lord: and you say well; for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. 16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, ‘The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.’ 17 If ye know these things, happy are you if you do them.
18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eats bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me. 19 Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he. 20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receives whomsoever I send receives me; and he that receives me receives him that sent me.
Mark 14:13 And he sent forth two of his disciples, and said unto them, Go into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him. 14 And where ever he shall go in, say to the good man of the house, “The Master says, ‘Where is the guest room, where I shall eat the Passover with my disciples?” 15 And he will show you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us.’
16 And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the Passover. 17 And in the evening he came with the twelve.
‘One of You Shall Betray Me!’
Mark 14:18-21 - And as they sat and ate, Jesus said, ‘Truly I say unto you, One of you which eats with me shall betray me.’
19 And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, ‘Is it me?’ And another said, ‘Is it me?’
20 And he answered and said unto them, ‘It is one of the twelve, who dips with me in the dish. 21 The Son of man indeed goes, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! Good were it for that man if he had never been born.’

26 Jesus answered, ‘He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it.’ And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, ‘What you do, do quickly.’
28 Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spoke this unto him. 29 For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, ‘Buy those things that we have need of against the feast’; or, that he should give something to the poor.
30 He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.

32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree: When his branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near: 33 So likewise you, when you shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34 Truly I say unto you, this generation shall not pass, till all these things are fulfilled. 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36 But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore: for you know not what hour your Lord comes.
Be Ready
43 But know this: that if the good man of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore you also be ready: for in such an hour as you think not the Son of man comes.
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he comes shall find so doing. 47 Truly I say unto you, that he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, “My lord delays his coming.”; 49 And shall begin to smite his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looks not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 26:1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples, 2 You know that after two days is the feast of the Passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified. 3 Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, 4 And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtlety, and kill him. 5 But they said, ‘Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.’
Jesus Anointed at Bethany
6 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, 7 there came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat. 8 But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, ‘To what purpose is this waste? 9 For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.’
10 When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, ‘Why trouble the woman; for she has wrought a good work upon me. 11 For you have the poor with you always; but me, you do not have always. 12 For in that she has poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial. 13 Verily I say unto you, where ever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman has done, be told for a memorial of her.’
Judas Agrees to Betray Jesus
14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, 15 And said unto them, ‘What will you give me, and I will deliver him unto you?’ And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. 16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
Jesus Eats the Passover with His Disciples
17 Now the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, ‘Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?
Jesus Washes the Disciples’ Feet
John 13:1-22 Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. 2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him; 3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; 4 He arose from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. 5 After that he poured water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.
6 Then came he to Simon Peter: and Peter said unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? 7 Jesus answered and said unto him, ‘What I do thou know not now; but you shall know hereafter. 8 Peter said unto him, Thou shall never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, ‘If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. 9 Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. 10 Jesus said to him, He that is washed needs not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and you are clean, but not all. 11 For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, ‘You are not all clean.’
12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, ‘Do you know what I have done to you? 13 You call me Master and Lord: and you say well; for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. 16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, ‘The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.’ 17 If ye know these things, happy are you if you do them.
18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eats bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me. 19 Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he. 20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receives whomsoever I send receives me; and he that receives me receives him that sent me.
Mark 14:13 And he sent forth two of his disciples, and said unto them, Go into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him. 14 And where ever he shall go in, say to the good man of the house, “The Master says, ‘Where is the guest room, where I shall eat the Passover with my disciples?” 15 And he will show you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us.’
16 And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the Passover. 17 And in the evening he came with the twelve.
‘One of You Shall Betray Me!’
Mark 14:18-21 - And as they sat and ate, Jesus said, ‘Truly I say unto you, One of you which eats with me shall betray me.’
19 And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, ‘Is it me?’ And another said, ‘Is it me?’
20 And he answered and said unto them, ‘It is one of the twelve, who dips with me in the dish. 21 The Son of man indeed goes, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! Good were it for that man if he had never been born.’
John 13:23-38 - Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. 24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spoke. 25 He then lying on Jesus' breast said unto him, ‘Lord, who is it?’
26 Jesus answered, ‘He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it.’ And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, ‘What you do, do quickly.’
28 Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spoke this unto him. 29 For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, ‘Buy those things that we have need of against the feast’; or, that he should give something to the poor.
30 He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.
31 Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, ‘Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him. 32 If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him.
